Construction Case Study:

A Morris County homeowner solicited our expertise on issues they were facing on their property. We scheduled a consultation with the homeowners, and within a few days Pando Landscapes was on site. The problems were evident, there was a significant amount of soil erosion from poor drainage and lack of organic ground cover. Beyond that, there was work performed by a previous contractor that was in a state of failure. The clients expressed their desire to have a backyard space they could finally enjoy to look at and utilize. Equally as important, the clients had a firm budget in mind.

The Pando team started their work to put together a well thought out estimate and plan. After conducting further measurements and analysis of the current conditions, we began tailoring and fortifying our assessment. The conclusion: Tree Removal, 200’ of drainage pipe, grading and soil conditioning, irrigation, 7,500 Square Feet of Sod and various plantings.

After due diligence was performed the construction process began. Working from the fundamentals up, the project began to take shape. Trees deemed unsafe or unfit for the final vision were removed. Drainage was trenched, properly prepared and backfilled with designated materials. The earth was graded to improve stormwater runoff and then conditioned with nutrient rich materials. Planting beds were sculpted and various species introduced. Irrigation was installed. Sod was seamlessly placed with almost instant satisfaction. The entire backyard came to life. A few more finishing touches were completed to tie it all together, belgium block, additional plantings and bluestone steps.

Pando Landscapes now maintains the property with weekly lawn care service and the project has settled in perfectly. Form and function have met, and the clients are thrilled with the end product.
